Polygon

გამოიყენება სიხშირეთა განაწილების გრაფიკული წარმოდგენისათვის როგორც დაუჯგუფებელი მონაცემებისათვის, ასევე მონაცემთა ინტერვალური დაჯგუფების შემთხვევაში. ვთქვათ, x1<x2<x3<...<xk შერჩევის მონაცემების ზრდის მიხედვით დალაგებული ვარიანტებია, n1,n2,n3,...nk კი ამ ვარიანტების შესაბამისი სიხშირეები, მაშინ პოლიგონი არის (x1,n1), (x2,n2),(x3,n3), ....(xk,nk) კოორდინატებიანი წერტილების შემაერთებელი წირი (ტეხილი).

მაგალითი:  თუ მონაცემებში ქულების ვარიანტებია 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 და ამ ვარიანტების შესაბამისი სიხშირეებია 3, 2, 1, 5, 2, 2, შესაბამისად, მაშინ პოლიგონი იქნება შემდეგი სახის:

მონაცემთა ინტერვალური დაჯგუფების შემთხვევაში, ინტერვალების შუაწერტილების თავზე ავიღებთ წერტილებს ამ ინტერვალებში ჩავარდნილი მონაცემების სიხშირეების ტოლ სიმაღლეებზე და შევაერთებთ მათ.

ხშირად პოლიგონის ასაგებად იყენებენ ვარიანტების არა სიხშირეეებს, არამედ ფარდობით სიხშირეებს n1n,n2n, n3n,....nkn , სადაც  n=n1+n2+...+nk შერჩევის მოცულობაა.
